We have received many requests for a large commercial unit and Bonsai has come through with their flagship 4'x2' laminar flow hood.
The Bonsai Commercial 48"x24" flow hood is the most popular size for
any commercial or home lab with the space. The Bonsai Commercial Series
Flow hood is made with components from many leading US brands. The top
of the line HEPA filter is made from a water resistant glass microfiber
and features hundreds of aluminum separators to maximize the laminar
flow. These HEPA filters are used throughout the microbiological
industry, microchip manufacturers, nuclear laboratories, and more!
Don't be fooled by many of these cheap all-in-one FFU (Fan filter
units) that claim to be just as good, while they may work for simple
inoculations, they create a turbulent work field and can easily cause
cross wind contamination while doing many of the popular tasks. True
laminar air flow is needed to provide a constant reliable sterile work
space.
Bonsai's production center features many state of the art robotics
including CAD, CNC machines, that do a perfect job cutting pristine
1-piece frames. They also allow them to produce more units per day and
lowering the overall cost of the unit. Bonsai prices are 20-35% lower
than most of their competitors and unlike anywhere else the flow hoods
are in stock and ready to ship!
These large flow hoods must ship on a pallet by freight truck!
We work with several different freight carriers like Fedex Freight, Estes, UPS/T-force depending on where you live. Make sure you provide us a phone number as most carriers will call you to schedule an appointment window for delivery.
If your order includes other items, they will ship separately by normal UPS ground.

Construction:
Material: 3/4" birch or Maple plywood top cabinet grade.
1 Piece CNC machined removable front trim cover
All wood screws are #8 2" and are installed with a countersink to prevent splitting.
1/4 20 machine screws with washer and nut secure the motor to the fan box - this reduces vibration.
Threaded metal inserts prevent stripping the plywood frame when changing the filter.
100% silicone caulking used on interior joints to prevent air leakage.
