I enjoy mushroom foraging and the flavor of Maitake is incredible. This kit was good except just know that it takes 2-3 months to get any mushrooms. They slowly add layers to the fruiting body and then one day they start growing fast and you get some decent mushrooms. Patience is needed with this strain, but 100% worth it!

I've tried growing Maitake's from a different vendor and was not successful in growing anything. With this kit I followed the instructions that is included and used Method 1. It worked like a charm! Took longer than I initially thought, but after doing more research I found that this is normal. I now have some pretty spectacular mushrooms!

I love Hen of the woods mushrooms, and the chance to grow my own was too good to pass up. They grew perfectly, and they tasted fantastic.

My Maitake is coming along just as Myco Labs describes. I did one single 24 hour cold shock once the first pin-blobs appeared. Cut the bag and they are off. A few very sweet looking clusters growing.
