Myco Labs Premium CVG Bulk Substrate Mix, 5 LB

    Price: $18.00

Myco Labs Premium CVG is a pasteurized, ready-to-use bulk substrate: coco coir, vermiculite and gypsum, buffered with hydrated lime and finished with Azomite trace minerals. It arrives already hydrated to field capacity, so the only thing you add is colonized grain spawn. One 5 lb bag fills a Small 28Q monotub with a single bag of colonized grain spawn.

    Why grow in our CVG

    Pasteurized, not sterilized

Each batch is pasteurized to knock back competitors while keeping the natural biology a bulk grow depends on.

    Moisture already dialed in

Squeeze a handful and a drop or two comes out, no more. There's nothing to measure or add.

    The same every bag

Lime and gypsum steady the pH and Azomite supplies trace minerals, so texture and moisture repeat from one tub to the next.

Spawn to bulk in four steps

    1Start with white grain

Use fully colonized spawn and massage the bag until the kernels separate.

    2Loosen the substrate

Empty the bag into a clean tub or tray and crumble any clumps from shipping.

    3Mix at 2:1 to 3:1

Blend substrate and spawn evenly, then level the surface and press it down lightly.

    4Let it run

Cover it and leave it alone until the surface turns white, usually 2–3 weeks, then switch to fruiting conditions.

    Common questions

What's in Myco Labs Premium CVG?

A base of coco coir, vermiculite and gypsum, with hydrated lime to buffer the pH, mineral water and Azomite trace minerals. It's pasteurized and pre-hydrated before it ships.

Do I need to add water?

No. Every bag is hydrated to field capacity. Open it, break up any clumps and mix in your colonized grain spawn.

What should it look like when I open the bag?

Dark brown, moist and crumbly, with light flecks of vermiculite. A squeezed handful should give a drop or two of water, not a stream. Some clumping from shipping is normal.

    Is it pasteurized or sterilized?

Pasteurized. That reduces competing microbes while keeping the substrate's natural biology, which is the standard approach for bulk substrate. Your grain spawn is the part that gets sterilized.

How much substrate does my monotub need?

About 4 lb for a Small 28Q, 7.5 lb for a Medium 44Q and 10 lb (two 5 lb bags) for a Large 66Q. One 5 lb bag covers a 28Q with a little to spare.

Can I use it as a casing layer?

Yes. Mix it through as your bulk substrate, or spread a thin layer over colonized substrate as a casing.

How do I store extra bags?

Keep them sealed somewhere cool and dry for the short term, or refrigerate sealed bags for up to 6 months. Don't freeze it, and avoid heat swings that cause condensation inside the bag.

When it arrives: Keep the bag sealed until you're ready to spawn. If you won't use it within a few weeks, refrigerate it, but never freeze it.
