A 4 lb sterilized grow bag that holds the grain spawn and the bulk substrate in one sealed bag. Inject spores or liquid culture, let the grain colonize, shake it through the substrate and fruit right from the bag. No pasteurizing, no tub prep and no open-air spawn transfer.
The spawn-to-bulk transfer is where most grows go wrong. Here the grain moves into the substrate without the bag ever being opened.
A milo, millet and rye layer over coco coir, vermiculite and gypsum, pressure-sterilized 180 minutes and bagged fresh daily.
Cut the top open and fruit in place, or move it into a monotub for more surface area. Easy to run alongside your tubs.
Wipe the port, flame your needle and inject 4–5 cc of spores or 5–10 cc of liquid culture into the grain layer.
Keep it at 72–76°F. The grain usually hits 50–75% colonized in 15–25 days.
Break up the grain and shake to mix it through the substrate.
Leave the bag sealed 10–14 days until the substrate is fully colonized.
Give it 12+ hours of light a day, cut the top open and mist the inside walls once daily.
Liquid culture tip: shake the syringe hard before you inject. Cultures settle into clumps, and a well-shaken syringe spreads mycelium through the grain instead of leaving you with broth.

Liquid culture colonizes faster and more predictably, which is why we recommend a slightly larger dose (5–10 cc). Spores give you more genetic variety.
While they are technically the same style of bag, Myco Labs sells cultivation supplies only. Check your local laws and regulations before growing any species.
One bag produces multiple flushes. Keep the walls misted between flushes, and compost the substrate once it's spent.
