Help contain a mold patch in a bulk grow.
A first-aid tool for a bulk grow that shows a patch of mold. This superabsorbent sodium polyacrylate powder soaks up more than 100 times its weight in water. Spread over a contaminated spot, it pulls moisture away from the mold and forms a dry barrier that helps keep it from spreading into the rest of the tub. It is non-toxic, and a 4 oz jar covers several treatments.

At the first sign of mold, treat the surface with hydrogen peroxide.
If it persists, spread a thick layer of powder over the spot and a little beyond.
The powder binds moisture over the next few hours, drying out the patch.
Set a shot glass or small cup over the spot and leave it for the rest of the grow.
No guarantees: mold can be persistent. This works best with early detection and hydrogen peroxide, and a heavily contaminated tub is usually better tossed.
Prevention firstGood airflow helps: try monotub filter disks and a clean workspace with a UV-C wand.

I had mold growing in one of the large spawn jars near the top with a small bloom of Lion's Mane at the bottom. I decided it was worth a try and sprinkled about 3/4 of a teaspoon of the powder over the mold. It's been a week and the mold has not spread but the mycelium has more than doubled in size. I am impressed and will buy it again.
