This magnetic stir plate spins liquid culture and lab solutions anywhere from 350 to 4000 RPM on a brushless DC motor, with a stepless dial so you can set exactly the speed you want. It stirs up to 2000 ml and comes with a stir bar, so it is ready to run out of the box. Keeping liquid culture moving breaks up the mycelium and keeps it evenly suspended, which means every syringe you draw carries about the same amount of culture.

I thought I would just make due with the the little magnet and hand stir it. 1st use and i realized i should've bought it a long time ago. This bad boy creates a vortex!

This does a much better job for mixing than u can do with the normal magnet. What you need to do though is start it on the lowest setting and let the magnet catch the center and then you can turn it up. It works great and you can mix for 5-10 min straight with ease and really get liquid cultures to mix great.
Fantastic stir plate. Picks up the stir bar better than others ive used. I had a LC jar that was over colonized and it was able to hold the stir bar in place while it mixed up the mycelium and didnt throw the stir bar to the side.
